I never realized you could sharpen an eyeliner pencil.

I'm off for my first-ever attempt at doing a smoky eye. Wish me luck. And here's hoping I don't put my eye out.

the easiest way to do smokey eyes is with a eyeliner brush and dark shadow (like carbon or black tie from MAC)... you also cut down on the chances of poking your eye out.

Thanks for the advice! I may check that out. I need all the help I can get: I googled the heck out of "smoky eye" before I'm trying it! I do okay with simple, basic makeup, but that's about it.

I actually prefer my eyeliner pencils sorta worn down rather than totally sharp and pointy...
