Okay. Last night I saw the trailer for The Last Airbender, I think it said it was coming out in July?

M. Night Shyamalan is directing . . .

The animated series rocked. I'm still not sure if I like the idea of a live action movie. With Shyamalon directing, it has the potential to either be a stink bomb, or be freaking amazing. Just have to wait until it's out I guess.

Back when Avatar was still running new, people were chatting about what the ending of season 2 would be, and somebody suggested something that was a twist JUST for twist's sake (which ultimately ended up being what happened... twist for no other good reason than a twist... :eyeroll and I said something like "I don't exactly see that happening... this is Mike & Brian, not M. Night Shyamalon."
And then like two weeks later the news broke of a live-action Avatar directed by M. Night.
It was kinda hilarious. And kinda annoying.

Anyway, from what I know Mike & Brian worked really closely with M. on this, so I'm cautiously hopeful for the result. So far the effects look WONDERFUL, a great translation of the 2D animation to realistic CGI.
Not exactly a fan of the casting but, seriously, I don't think they could do a casting job that I would like, LOL.

I'm REALLY excited about it. Avatar is my weakness. I know it's a childrens animated TV show, but it's just awesome and I love it.

I started watching it when it first came on and I liked it, but my mom made me feel stupid for watching a show that was rated TV Y7 (for 7 year olds) so I stopped. It does have impressive animation though.

I love animated things too. I have one Japanese anime movie, "Akira". I have seasons 1-5 (or 6) of the Simpsons, and a set of Ren and Stimpy. I also have season one of Batman the Animated Series (the one that was on in the '90s, that looks like its set in the 30's but really isn't set in any specific time period that can be pinpointed), and some CGI disney movies, like Finding Nemo, and Wall.E. I don't really watch the cartoons that are on TV now, except for the Fabulous Misadventures of Flapjack now and then. That show is amusing.

What's really fun is when you catch things in cartoons that only an older person would understand. For example, I used to watch Aladdin on the Disney Afternoon back in the day, and I remember a particular episode where they went to the land of the Barbarians for some reason. Aladdin kept saying how they were going to do the "Barbarian thing" (be like the Barbarians) and the Barbarian princess decides she likes him and carries him off, and Jasmine says she'll try to fix it. Aladdin asks what he should do 'till then, and Jasmine says "uhh, the Barbarian thing?" and they pan back to Aladdin's face, and they had drawn a look of absolute disgust. You know what he was thinking!! Lol I just cracked up at that.

And in the Powerpuff Girls, I've heard that there are breast jokes, but I've never caught one in any episode. Maybe its slang that only guys know? *shrugs*
