I *think* there is a level of toxicity in human nail polish that isnt present in dog polish... although I am pretty sure I have eaten plenty of nail polish in my life and I havent died yet, so how toxic is it? I dont really know.

I did paint a dogs nails when I was little (the parents were NOT pleased, nor was the dog) and I just used my own polish and she survived.

so dog nail polish is the same stuff as what we use? If so that will save me so much money lol i have nail polish i just dont know if it was the same stuff.

i asked a few groomers around here, some said they had no clue and some said it was all the same stuff. One just uses human nail polish.

I use human polish on Izzie's nails when i do them for special occasions. Most healthy dogs won't chew at them anyways.

If you only do it on special days I'm sure it will be fine, I've done it on my animals and they've always been fine. Especially if she's not a big paw chewer.

its pretty much the same stuff, dog nailpolish is treated with extra stuff that makes it dry a little quicker.
i paint rubies nails all the time, (its fun and she doesnt mind) but i can never get it on there smooth, and by the time its dry its all smudged... ill admit im a girl with little experience with nail polish on a normal basis lol

I am pretty sure that the dog nail polish is formaldehyde free, is treated to dry faster, and is safe if they try chewing it off. I would be extremely careful if you don't use doggie nail polish, and make sure you use natural nail polish remover to take it off.
