Default question, specific breed sounds like a bear?

My dog jasper was adopted from the shelter, found in the woods by a hunter who thought she was a bear at first lol but when she plays she sounds like a bear. Now i know there is border collie in her, no doubt about it, but she seems to be a mess of other breeds too, I will post pictures of her when I get back home (tomorrow night) but I was just wondering if there is a dog breed that trademarks a bear sound?

Bear sounds lol

I knew a GSD who used to make "bear sounds" when he was trying to lick his nether regions but he was too lazy to twist around

rofl that's too funny. It's her play "growl" I suppose, it makes it easy to determine if she's angry or playing though, when she sounds like a bear, she's happy, when she sounds like a dog, someone better take note of what's ticked her off lol =P

Agree ! We need to hear it !! One of my Goldens did growls like that when the kids made him ! He never bite a soul , but they sure could get him to growl and bare teeth . Another " please stop or someone will get hurt ! " Mommy moment .

Thankfully I don't know what a bear sounds like. Video would be helpful.

That said, I don't know if there is any specific breed that makes specific sounds. I mean, there are breed tendencies - some breeds tend to whine more, some tend to howl more, etc. - but I'm sure you could find a dog in many different breeds that sounds the same. I like to listen to dogs bark at a shelter and try to guess what breed of dog it is, or even just how big the dog is.... even though I've heard THOUSANDS of different dogs, I'm still wrong most of the time.

Our wirehaired pointing griffon sounds like a bear when he's on a track. He makes that whuffling, grunty pig sound. Only he does it at about 1/10 the volume that a bear does. I could imagine a dog being able to pull it off at full volume though.
