Default How much....

does your vet charge? I recently read on another forum somewhere that just for a routine exam, their vet charges $70!!! I thought that was pretty outrageous.

My vet only charges $39 for a yearly wellness exam/medical exam, and even gives a small discount for additional pets if you bring them in at the same time (I think the second pet only costs $30). Vaccines range from $16-30 (newer, 3 year vaccines are more expensive). Normal cat spay is $135. Just for a few examples.
He's even one of the more expensive vets in the area as well.

A regular office visit at our vet (holistic practice) is $38. Most vaccines are around $15-17.

I have two vets -- one for surgeries, and one for vaccines/basic check-ups. I think the latter charges about $40 for a routine exam, plus whatever price a vaccine is if they need one. He often charges us less though since we've been seeing him forever and we have multiple dogs. The other vet (the one we use for surgical procedures) charges about a $60 fee everytime you walk through the door... nevermind an exam or any treatment. But he's well worth it.

Just to walk in the door = $60
Izzie's Spay (Just the spay and fluids) = $400

I've never gotten vaccines or checkups done there before so I'll put the old clinic's:

Vaccines = $60 to step through the door + $30 for the actual jabs = Total: $90
Wellness Exam = $60 to step through the door + $20 for the exam = Total $80

just to walk in the door $80
yearly shots would normally run $125 per dog...

I wonder if other dogs think Cresties are members of some weird religious cult?

To the best of my recollection:
Checkup - $30ish
Shots - $20-35ish
Spay - $70ish

Yearly Exam (which isn't much...) + shots cost us $50 per dog.

Spays are $275, IIRC. Neuters are $240ish.

10-25lb Boarding is $12 a night.
26-50lb Boarding is $13 a night.

It depends... Sometimes if there's nothing really wrong and he's just checking to make sure a suture has closed up or checking a limp it's free. Usually it's only 20-30 for a visit with medicine and procedures of course costing more.
