Thumbs down We need help, bad.

Our deployment date is March 11, 2010. My parents had promised to take care of my dogs.
Problem being that when I went home they were not taken care of. There has been money going home for grooming, food, vets, new collars, tags, and whatever else I thought they might need.
Doom had a cut behind his ear that obviously needed stitches, they're eating PEDIGREE, neither had been bathed or groomed in MONTHS (like probably since I was home on leave in July) their collars are filthy and still have my old phone number and address in Illinois, their microchips are not up to date (yes, I could have taken care of them, but my parents had said they would take care of it). So when we came home I asked my husband's parents (yes, I got married - if our photographer ever gets back to us I will post pictures) if they would watch them, and they said yes, then said they'd think about it, then said no, which I understand, but it sucks, because Jon and I will BOTH be gone in Iraq for a full year. I would like them near Colorado, but I'm not sure its realistic.
Now here's where I need help... is there anyone here who would be willing to take Doom and Bobsie for a year (possibly more because there is always the chance that we will end up with our orders extended because it happens). We will send money home for vet bills, we will pay for the gas to transport them, we will do anything you need us to do to make it comfortable for them to stay with you. They are house trained, loving, amazing and sweet animals, they don't deserve the treatment they're getting now, but we didn't have the means to get them home last time (we flew with southwest and they don't do the animal thing).
I know I'm not exactly a regular here any more, I just don't have the time. Those of you who knew me from before know I love my dogs and I wouldn't have left them with my parents had I known this would happen. I don't know where the money I have sent home is going, sure as hell not to anything useful because their house looks like garbage and I just don't see anything that it could have gone to.
Someone, please, anyone, help us?

If I were in the position to help, I'd be right there jumping in, but I was in the same position you are in having to find a temporary home. Cocoa's with Dana (brattina).

That really sucks about your parents... I can't believe they'd basically "steal" your money like that, when it was very clear that it was to be used on your dogs.

(((hugs))) and vibes your way in hopes of finding a temporary place for them to stay!!

If you pay my rent so I can live somewhere with three dogs, you got a deal!

I'm really sorry this is all going on...come over in the next few days and we can sit down to brainstorm!

Sorry, hon. I wish I was in a position to help. Even if I didn't have so much stuff on my plate already, I can't have small dogs with Raja. Hope everything works out alright. *hugs and vibes*

Seriously Zoom? If you can find a place, I will. We're THAT desperate.

I was trying to think how I could help, however I definitely could only take Bobsie. Doom would be far too large for the place I'm moving into in April. I know dogs are more time intensive than they are space intensive, but my roommates don't like too much dog in their space. I also take the bus and while dogs are allowed, large dogs are such a pain to take on them.

I have a dogless household, two cats.. I work at Pet Planet (Holistic pet store), in the daycare. Food wouldn't be a issue (I get a free bag of food every month.) and Bobsie would be able to come to work with me.

But I also live in Calgary, Alberta. Quite a big chunk of land to move across from Ohio. I wish I could offer more help (take doom), but it just would not be possible since I'm out of the house for a good 9 1/2hrs, he wouldn't be a happy camper.

if you were really in a pickle we could take them but I dont' know if they get along with children or other dogs and we are on the total opposite side of the country and we'd need a back up plan just in CASE something were to happen.
