Default Food for pups

Is James Wellbeloved puppy kibble a good quality start for our new pup?

I went to the site.. It's *marginal*. Here are the ingredients. IMO, the first ingredient should be MEAT, theirs is rice. This is a step up from the purina and pedigree and science diet, but it's still not the best.

INGREDIENTS: Rice, lamb meat meal, ground whole barley, potato protein, fresh lamb, lamb fat, whole linseed, lamb gravy, sugar beet pulp, alfalfa, natural seaweed, sodium chloride, calcium carbonate, D,L-methionine, lysine hydrochloride, threonine, zinc methionate.

Look for the magic words: "human grade" ingredients and "organic," as well as the kind of ingredients (chicken, lamb, beef, etc.).

And all of you long-timers know what's coming . . . . go to and read up on nutrition. You won't find any better information on the subject.
