Surgery tomorrow

I'm going in for my colectomy tomorrow. It should be about a 5 hour surgery and I'll be in the hospital for around 5-7 days. I can't see the baby at all during that time, which really sucks, but I am glad to be getting the surgery done.
I had to get medical clearance from my primary doctor but he refused because I am anemic. I'm anemic because of the disease and need surgery to fix that, so the surgeon is talking to him today and called me to tell me that we are doing the surgery anyway.
I'm not really nervous about the surgery--just the recovery, not seeing Damien, and how my husband will manage being alone with Damien for a week
And surgery prep sucks. I had to start the clear liquid diet at 4 yesterday and can't eat for a couple of days after the surgery either. I'm hungry

Thanks, everyone. I went in for a final hemoglobin test today and it was actually lower now that I have been taking extra iron. The surgeon said he would be prepared for a transfusion during surgery if necessary, but let's hope it doesn't come to that
