i kind of like that the name sounds like a shepard on a pogo stick...thats one way to heard sheep, i cant see it being effective though.

they're just another dog some good some bad, & i know i've hunted w/ more dogos than you.

How do you know the pups will have only the good traits of each breed? What if the pups get the traits you don't want from each breed? Like you get a dog that you can manhandle in protection, and it's not real smart like the GSD and not real trainable but it's got off the hook prey drive like the GSD? Say you have a litter of 6 and only 1 has what you are looking for, what happens to the rest of the pups? Do you cull? How will you know the pup has what you are looking for, since a lot or GSD's and I'm assuming Dogos are late to mature? Will you wait 3 years to see if the pups really have what you are trying to get out of this mix? How will you replicate the traits you want from litter to litter?

OK - so you've got the grand daughter of a proven dog. Some holes in the gene pool there. And the sire is the son of a showdog! Who's to say there's any working ability there? I have International and UKC champions too ... there was no working test for that title. We had to go elsewhere to prove that ...

Just consider ... it will be a shame if you don't perfect the breed before the end of the world. It's 2012, right? Better get movin' ...

And to follow DanL's post ... What happens if you do get the opposite traits in the whole litter ... everything you dislike about both breeds? Then what?
