Decided to take the afternoon off work today and popped by the Catholic church to take some photos. These are just two of many from today, and I think I'll be going back next week to do some more shots in there.

For anyone who picked up on the distortion in the first shot, it was done using a fisheye lens and then de-fished. It's also three images merged into an HDR shot that's hopefully been kept tastefully tame .

I did a bunch of stained glass photos, but the second shot turned out the best. This is also an HDR made from 2 exposures.

Very neat !! I hope the pews are filled on Sundays ! I used to love wandering into different churches just to reflect /// sadly most are locked today . Luckily though when daughter Amy and I were in New York years ago , we were able to go into " The Little Church around the corner " . My parents were married there and I was baptisted there . It was neat to reflect and light a few candles for our loved ones . It's a sweet church if anyone has a chance to visit .

Thanks, Grammy. What I personally like about this church - aside from its beauty - is the fact that they welcome people to come in and appreciate/photograph the stained glass/art/interior so long as it's while they're open (which happens to be every day).

Thanks, Dekka. I generally avoid HDR like the plague, but in some instances, there's no alternative. The software I used for this HDR is like doing multiple exposures in-camera (subtle effect) and the tone-mapping seems pretty tame. The only down-side is it outputs small jpg's.
