Default Dog looking for home in VA

A partner (who dislikes dogs!) forwarded this request to me. Appearently, a friend of his found this dog over Thanksgiving. He's a handsome boy, and is currently safe in a rescue, but I said I'd spread the word. So if anyone knows someone . . . he sounds like a great dog.

Here's the info on him:

I just wanted to let you all know about a lovely dog that has been abandoned and was brought to my house for a few days over Thanksgiving. He is absolutely darling and would make anyone a wonderful pet. "Rocky" for lack of a better name, is a lab cross neutered male. From what I can tell he is probably around a year old. He is a large, extremely athletic dog who loves to play ball, and be the center of attention. He is great with cats, dogs (he is very passive) and kids. He doesn't know much about horses but is very smart and learns very fast. He is house trained and sits at the door and lets you know when he needs to go out. He is a TOTAL snuggle bug and is just desperate to be loved on. If anyone is interested in him please go and see him at the Middleburg Humane Foundation who thankfully took him (with much persuading) as he would have been put down at the Loudoun Shelter after 5 days. He is really a great dog and deserves a chance to find his special someone. If you want to talk to me personally about him, please feel free to contact me.

Oh, he looks like a sweety. He looks just like my rescue Peanut. I hope he finds a good, loving home soon.

doubtful this is the same dog b/c the one in the pic looks young, but about two weeks ago I received an email about a lost senior black lab mix:

Radar, a senior black lab mix is lost in Annandale, VA after escaping from a vet clinic off Little River Turnpike. He was last seen near the Fudruckers restaurant. Radar is a very friendly dog and is likely to approach people. This dog is currently being treated for heartworm and should not be active at all.

unlikely, but worth a shot, i suppose.
