Default Some photos of the ladies from Thanksgiving..

Went home to my mom's house for Thanksgiving (got a root canal, hurrah!) and the morning after eating too much, PlottDaddy and I took Daisy (our basset), Lizzie (the elder plott girl) and my mom's 12 year old standard poodle, Cleo, to the local state park for some romping...

My favorite old lady, my <3 dog, Daisy Duke, looking grey and fabulous at 9

Cleo. For as long as I can remember, she's always stayed close... she'll go a few steps on ahead and stop and wait... rinse and repeat. She's slowly showing signs of age - she's full of life and bounces around when she can, but her legs are starting to have trouble keeping up with her heart. She is truly a classy old lady.

Lizard, the youngest at only just 6 this past 9/11, pointing towards the railroad tracks.

Old(ish) lady crew!

((MOAR!))

Lizard found a friend - a Chessie (we think - his "dad" said his son had found him wandering the streets as a pup...) named Lucky...

And they're off!!

And they're back!! (Check out the look on Lucky's face! Also, this does not look like it will end well for Daisy...)

The LAST hill! Lizard sprinted up, Daisy fought the good fight (she's in remarkable shape, actually... her legs are just too short to afford much speed...), poor Cleo actually slumped backwards onto her butt - PlottDaddy had to help her up and steady her. As you can see, she recovered just fine...

Ready to pile back into the back of the Civic coupe and go home

Thanks for looking!

I'm not entirely sure... I don't really watch them while I'm driving to see where they're sitting. I just open the door, pop my seat forward, and start loading dogs in one by one until they're all back there I can fit three plotts to go to a dog show... it looks like a clown car once we're there but it's manageable.

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only car-crammer... a woman I worked with used to breed/show mastiffs... she said at one point she lived with ten, and drove a honda?!

Thanks everyone, we did have a great morning. And PlottDaddy could *not* stop laughing at Daisy's ears while taking the last photo

What a lovely bunch of old(ish) ladies! I'm glad to hear Cleo is only starting to show age at 12. I have a Standard Poodle too (who's 4 now) and I'm hoping she stays "young" for a long time lol.
