Breeder okay'd the closest aiport in Toledo. So that is where we will be taking him once he gets into the vet for the health certificate, and then she'll schedule the flight.

There may not be a plane big enough to have him in cargo flying out from Toledo. *sigh* We could maaaybe borrow his grandmother's truck, but he'd have to be in a crate in the back. It is probably too cold to do that.

You could close the window of the truck cab and put blankets and a sweater on him for travel.

His breeder is trying to see if we can't get him flown out of Ft. Wayne. The truck doesn't have a cab, only a tarp that connects to the sides of the truck bed. She would not allow him in the back seat of the truck either. IF we can get him flown out of Ft. Wayne, I can take the car. If it breaks down in that area, I have family in Indiana.

He goes to the vet tomorrow to get his health certificate... soo.. within 11 days my boy will be heading to home to his breeder. I've been crying hysterically periodically, but because I'm goal oriented right now (just trying to figure out how I can get him there) I kow it won't really, really hit me until I'm driving home from the airport. I knwo I will have to have someone come with me so they can drive back. I woudln't be safe to drive.

Seems we finally have a plan. Marq's breeder has a handler friend that will be in Columbus until Saturday. We are going to get him there by 1 pm Friday, and he's going to transport Marq all the way to GA.. Saving Marq's co-breeder the cost of flying him, and saving Marq the stress of flying. Columbus is even FARTHER than what I could have driven to an airport, but Dustin's grandparents agreed to use their truck. That is a long drive, and Mason won't be able to come with me.... I won't be able to pump. Dustin will likely have to supplement with formula because I don't have enough breastmilk stored in the freezer for a 3 hr car ride one way.

I thought it'd be next week. I don't see him daily, but knowing it is all that much closer.. I don't know how much more heartbreak my heart can handle. Marq will have a happy, healthy, flea free, cleaner life until it is his time. IT is best.. but it still isn't easy. I can't tell you how many times I've asked myself lately, "Why can't life be fair to me just once? Why can't it be easy? Why do I get the short end of the stick."

To think, it is my brother and mom that neglects the dogs. They neglect their dogs, but they get to keep there's. There is nothing I can do about helping Summer to find a new home. Yet, I care for my dogs, they always have veterinary care, grooming, frontline and attention when I can.. and yet I have to be the one to rehome my dogs.

I don't know where I'll find the strength to hand his leash over on Friday. I don't know how I'll find the strength not to crumple to the ground and just sob.

Marq is with the professional handler that will be transporting him back to his breeder. Out of all of this, I still am crying, but I made the right choice and Marq won't be involved in this mess.

My dad called the cops on my sister, said she had till tonight to pack all her things and take her dogs, or he was taking them to the shelter. The dogs are outside in their wire crates, with tarps all around them and blankets for tonight. Misha, Fudge, and Pepper.

My mom threw my sister's cats out of the house a few days ago. Benji, looking for a warm place, went into the neighbor's dog enclosure in their dog houses with straw... and was mauled by the rottweilers. He's gone. Tasha saved that kitten's life.

She's staying here tonight... and calling any apartments/houses she can find. But... she doesn't make a whole lot. I don't think she's yet able to face the reality that she can't keep all her animals. She is calling the local cat rescue about her cats, but they've been full for months.

I'm going to see if I can talk her into rehoming Misha maybe... We're lookign for a home for Fudge.

tasha has pictures and videos of Fudge's neglect. Flea dirt doesn't show up well in pictures, but we have videos where you can see he is just covered in black, and you can see all the fleas crawling on him, even AFTER my sister shaved almost all his hair off. The water was black with blood when she bathed him. His nails are awful and makign it uncomfortable to walk. And, he was matted alllll over

Geez. I'm sorry you're going through this, but in the long run you can rest knowing you did what was best for the animals.

I got an update on Marq. he is VERY happily staying with the man that will be driving him down to GA. He picked Marq up, had treats for Marq, and i'm told is just about the nicest man alive. I'm grieving the loss of him, but I'm rejoicing in that he has gained sooo much more. When thinking about Marq, I don't cry as much anymore.. I can smile.

It is all these other dogs that I'm very, very concerned about.

Oh, wow. I can't even imagine how hard this must be for you. I'm glad you feel like Marq is gaining something wonderful.

I don't know your whole family dynamics, but . . . wow. Hope you're able to find homes for the other animals.
