Default My first thanksgiving (menu)

So this year i'm going home for t-giving, so I don't get to be with my bf...soooo tomorrow I am surprising him by cooking an entire thanksgiving dinner (YIKES).

I'm a little overwhelmed cause I 've never cooked any of these dishes before & I am horrible with multi-tasking at cooking, lol...so hopefully everything turns out ok!!

Unfortunately my bf doesn't like pumpkin or cranberry sauce...grrrrrrrr

Here is my menu ... if you have any other suggestions, or better recipes, lemme know!!

1st Course: Carrot & Squash Curry Soup

Main Course:
Herb Crusted Turkey Breast with Mushroom & Leek Stuffing

Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Green Bean Casserole - I'm still searching for a perfect recipe...the Campbell's one seems so....processed....

Dessert:
Pear Crisp with Vanilla Ice Cream

Think its enough for 2?? Or should I add one more veggie dish?

It's probably enough, but I would add another veggie or some type of salad if it were me...........but, I tend to over do it so I have leftovers for black friday! hahahaha (and the fact I can't stand green bean casserole! )

Oh BTW, your menu sounds DELICIOUS (minus the GB cass) especially the pear crisp with vanilla ice cream! *slurp*

Ummmm . . . can I come over??

I actually was just about to leave to go shopping for dinner foods and I think I'm going to steal your recipe and do the Turkey! Thanks

Oh and tell me how the soup turns out. I'm always on the lookout for good soup recipes that I can make and freeze in single serving containers!!

Oh and PS........I added Pioneer woman to my favorites! I like the looks of her recipes, and I like her sense of humor while she's showing you how to make them! LOL

Yes, Pioneer Woman is great...does she have a green bean casserole too?

That menu sounds delicious!

Coop - she is awesome!! My sister recently introduced me to her. I actually haven't made anything from her yet cause his recipes tend to not be exactly, well...healthy, haha...but they all look SOOO freaking good & she cracks me up!

I've never actually had GB Cass...but my bf says its his fave, so I figured I should include it...I am kinda cringing at the ingredients, lol...I dunno how I'll feel about it either!! So I may have to go searchin for some simple veggies for myself, hehe.

Thanks for the GB cass recipe poodlemom - that looks better!!

And sis, I'll def let ya know!

My only suggestion is baking stuffed Cornish Hens instead a turkey breast ~~~ they can be so dry ! Plus your potatoes need a nice gravy , which you won't get from a breast !

I prefer cornish hens to turkey breast...but it's not thanksgiving without turkey.

Sounds delicious but I would do some kind of bread (cornbread!). I can't help on the casserole Zach always does that. I don't even know if it's actually a casserole but I think it's got bread crumbs and oil in it...it's GOOD.

Sounds delicious!
