Default Mia got attacked at the park

Just like the title says. We were taking our daily walk around the park today and Mia got charged and nearly bitten....

Here's the culprit:

Mean ass goose.

It lowered it's head then charged us and scared Mia half to death. I did some serious backpedaling but I thought for sure it was going to bite her. Poor girl I ended up yanking her back via the leash.

In other news Mia jumped off a 5 foot wall today onto concrete and scared me to death again. She also got revenge by chasing all the other ducks away.

I hate geese, btw.

Well I'm glad my first thought (that it was another dog) was incorrect. Phew. I'm glad no one was hurt. Maybe you should start traveling with a herding breed?

Geese pose no real problem for any of my dogs.

Wow !!! That scared me !!! I would love to let Ollie free when I visit Tom's memorial bench but it's beside a pond and many geese !! Have no idea what the outcome would be !!

That's what Tyr said when one of them stood up and hissed at him. When he went back and actually ran the goose out of the yard, he was incredibly proud of himself.

This one might! I've seen it attack plenty of grown people and even a german shepherd (who seemed to be going wtf?) It's MEAN I tell you! MEAN as hell.

We actually do travel most the time with a herding breed. His name is Ollie and he thinks his life goal is to yap at the goose. I don't think he cares much about herding it though.

I'm pretty sure my last herder would have hidden from the goose.

he looks like a chinese, and chinese are THE worst breed of goose in terms of agression and territorial behaviours...
even farmers whove raised them form tiny goslings say its a breed you either love or HATE as there so often very highly agressive.

but he was just doing his job, an impressive adult male protecting his home...poor mia, gees can be terrifying to a grown adult, let alone a small breed dog.

i LOVE geese though, lease those raised from goslings as farm geese...they can be very sweet.
grandad had one named "killer" he was huge, lived in a dog house in their orchard...
to those he was used to he was a mush, hed follow you round, climb in your lap for a fuss, loves under his wings scritched and would have a good chatter to you lol.
but he also did his job well, the neighborhood teens who used to jump the back fence and steal fruit from the bushes/trees (and tended to throw perfectly good fruit all on the ground in the process) stopped comming round after killer reached maturity!
