Default your tombstone etc

OK I posted this from another forum. what do you want your tombstone to say or your wake to consist of.... what memory or moment do you want to leave behind for those you love. afterall... death isn't REALLY about us as we are already at our destination... so what memory or thought do you wnat left for your loved ones... this was my answer

I too wish to be cremated and perhaps have half my ashes buried with a baby tree just as we had done with Teddy's ashes. and the other half kept for the keepers will... either they spread me where they think I would love or keep me to be spread with many of my loves after all their passings. it's up to them

but if I were to have a headstone...
it would either say "always an adventure" or "the destination of a body is not to arrive safely and beautiful in it's tomb but only to slide in sideways a mess saying 'what a heck of a ride"'

while it may be a long shot of a dream I don't WANT anyone to mourn my deaht but to to CELEBRATE my life. I want my wake to be up beat country music, beer and a big bonfire in the country and a bunch of people talking about their best memories with me.

I know this might not be realistic having lost people in my life. it's hard ... very hard to move past the sadness... but I want my life to represent what it was... happiness... a party. GOOD TIMES. for my soul is not dead it has just moved on to a greater place and I will see you there eventually and will great you with the same

I have a stone bench waiting beside a pond .. Tom's ashes are one side with a fish jumping out of the water after a dragon fly ( with bulrushes ) . My side has a Golden in bulrushes .... My hole aready has some ashes of my furries ( more will be added with me ). I also placed some of Tom's ashes in places special to him . And yes a celebration of life is a must !! No funeral for me !

A good ol' Irish wake . . . lots of drunk people telling wild stories about me, true or not. On any sort of memorial marker (hopefully the remains will be cremated), "Faithful as a Fila."

Nope, sorry sparks............we are all going to pitch in and have your stone say *in simple black letters* COCKROACHFACE
(I had to, just had to cause it's all I think about when I see your posts )

I don't really want an old mopey funeral either...........it's the Irish in me (like Renee) I want a great big sloppy rootin' tootin' party with lots of jig dancin'! LOL

As to my stone, I haven't thought about it......guess I'll leave that to those who love me. They'll be the ones seeing it anyway, not me! hahaha

I don't know. I did hear about a dog friendly service. I think a walk in the woods would be best but then If i go before my Mom than it wouldnt' be right. THe service would be for her after all not me. So a dog friendly service and on the marker, I tried my best would be enough.

I"m not sure I want a marker at all. I think I may let my family decide where/what to do with me--although I do want to be cremated. I am not one to go to cemeteries -- not that they bother me, but I just don't feel that the person is "there". So I think I'd rather be where my family would feel close to me. Perhaps sprinkled around in the woods--I don't know.

smkie--in reference to your post...I have a story.

Years ago, my husbands grandmother passed away, and her daughter (my MIL) decided to put grandma's ashes in the apple orchard of their old farm (this would be quite a walk for my MIL)--but my husband was sure he could drive our four wheel car out there with my MIL in it, so she could take part in the sprinkling of the ashes. Well..husband drove the car out there just to be sure, but got the car stuck--called a tow truck, tow truck got stuck..second tow truck came to pull first tow truck and our car out! We all decided grandma was having the last laugh on that day!
