Wink Small Dog Deficiency

Some people say, "small dogs suck." And some people get offended by the people who say, "small dogs suck." I don't like stereotypes which are inaccurate about breeds, even though some have a ring of truth to them sometimes. Or...are partly true, just because of the nature of them. For instance, I get irritated when people call them ankle biters, yappers, snappy, ornery and all that. My little Chihuahuas are none of those things. Well, maybe a little yappy, but not excessive at all. They've learned to quiet on command pretty well. They certainly don't bark anymore than a lot of big dogs and in many cases, far less. And they are not fearful and they're very well socialized...they love people. But....

There are a few drawbacks to small dogs. I can list some and I bet you can think of some too, especially if you have experience with small dogs.

1) You MUST learn from your mistakes with little dogs. These guys love to burrow under blankets. And one time, I absent mindedly shook out this couch throw to fold it up and out fell a Chihuahua! Onto the floor! Oops!

2) You can lose them in the snow if there happens to be an avalanche.

3) Big dogs can kill and eat small dogs

4) Big dogs with big heads can squash and flatten small dogs like pancakes.

I know there are more shortcomings to small dogs. I just can't think of them now.

I can only think of positives...

No drooling
No sniffing crotches
No jumping on me and almost knocking me over
No ripping my arm out of my socket during a walk
Don't smell

Ah-ha...Poodlemommy. I'm gonna have to getchu for this. You're breaking the rules! I can think of loads of positives. But you're not playing right. You're suppose to think of drawbacks. LOL.

This may just be Art, but...

...They have the uncanny ability to stick their tongue all the way up your nose far enough to tickle your brain. O_O

LOL! I love that one! You are so right!

Elegy...those pictures are priceless!

Tahla...you'd be surprised at how little I have to watch my step. That's why that one didn't strike me as a downfall. They become expert at dodging peoples' feet. I don't even have to watch much at all, if at all. They're quick like lightening and agile and know darn well they better watch their own step. LOL.

Well, obviously the downside to having a small dog is that the size of your dog is also a depiction of the size of your penis. Therefore if you have a small dog you must have a small penis.
Clearly.
