Default How things went

Well, I got my blood drawn and that hurt! I've had it done before but this nurse wasn't very good and my arm is really bruised. I won't know the results of the glucose test or anything for a week at least.

The counselor was actually really great! I was worried because my friend told me the counselor I was going to see wasn't helpful but she was really a good lady. I walked in the door and she had pictures of her border collie everywhere so I thought 'she can't be all bad!' She knew all about papillons too! Anyways, I'm going to go see her again next week as well as talking to a psychiatrist about the anxiety. The counselor was very supportive and kept reminding me of how much I've gone through this past year and told me not to downplay it, which I think I have a tendency to do. She was impressed with the fact that I am doing all this to try to get better too. She's going to sign a release form to share the information with the department and we'll see what happens there as far as getting a no grade instead of an F in my class. She also said not to beat myself up about failing because normal math is really hard to get back into after taking time off and a lot of students struggle with it. and I'm in not normal math so it's exceptionally hard. I just don't know if I want to stick it out or not for the rest of my career. But as she said, focus on gettign through the semester first.

So... it felt pretty productive to me. Hopefully it's a start!

That is wonderful! Don't you love how little things like seeing pictures of a dog breed we like can put us at ease about a person?

Good for her, because I totally believe this too!! You went through a life changing event. It's okay to struggle and it's okay to feel sad, stressed out, and overwhelmed too. Don't beat yourself up because you're having a rough patch. ((((HUGS)))) and I hope things go well!
