The best advice I can offer is, when the time comes, make sure whatever your speciality is that it will carry over to a civlian job. I'm sure I'll think of something else later, tho. Good luck, kiddo!

Get any and all promises IN WRITING. Verbal agreements mean nothing. Unless it's in a contract, it won't happen.
