Default Please kill me, before the pain does

Oh my .... I can't describe to you how painful this is, other than someone stabbing you in the breasts over and over again. Yup, I've got a plugged duct.

I've been pumping every hour, constantly having hot compresses on my breasts, massaging, nursing Mason more frequently, taking hot bath and showers... none of it seems to be helping. Even walking hurts. Any tiny movement hurts. Even wearing a bra hurts.

My rice sock will be my new bestest friend for the next few days, that is for sure.

I have a big rice heating pad. It's a life saver for those things.

I've got a sock filled with rice, closed with a hair tie. :P Dustin tried sewing it shut, but he failed miserably. Bless is heart, he tried so hard today to help me. He's been making trips to that microwave alll day long to constantly warm it up.

I'm getting a headache.. might be feeling a fever coming on. This is no fun at all.

Well, it only took over 12 hours of massaging, hot compresses, baths, shower, nursing and pumping.. but lumps are gone!!! Still sore, but that is to be expected. Hopefully I'll be all better by tomorrow.

I know what caused it too.. *sigh* it was a combination of OVER production of milk (and Mason not nursing often enough to empty them enough) as well as wearing a tight sports bras. I think no matter how much Ican't afford it, I'm going to have to spend money on some proper fitting medium support nursing bras. Today hurt like crap, and I don't want the sports bras making them clog up again.

I am glad all is good now, I feel your pain, and remember the feeling of any tiny movement making you want to scream...

I had a similar situation escalate to mastitis and a week long hospital stay!!! I was MAJOR sick... and had a 3 month old at home, it also ended my breastfeeding so I am very glad you were able to get better!

I had to take a "hot bath" and dunk to my chin...the compress was doing nothing, then hot showers and finally she nursed like a nut and was better.

Good luck in the future, they suck
