Hi! I'm new to this forum. I am opening a kennel and salon very soon. I am not a groomer myself, but will be advertising for an experienced groomer to contract with. I will supply the salon equipment (grooming table, tub, dryer, etc.), and I would like to get quality equipment. Does anyone have any recommendations on brands or features you like best in your equipment? Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

If you really want to lure a good groomer and keep him/ her, buying quality equiptment is an excellent incentive!
Consider a stainless steel tub with pull out steps. It's a real back saver. 95% of my large dogs will go up the steps. A powerful high velocity dryer is also a must. Hydrolic grooming table , or electric. I really love my hydrolic, never a problem in 5 years with it. A stand dryer will be needed also. I have a Prima bathing system but there are others not as pricy. Those are the basic big ticket items. I am not good with links and stuff but you can google all these things and get a lot of info that way. good luck with your plans! |

As the poster above said, stainless steel tubs, hydraulic or electric grooming table, velocity dryer, and bathing system are all going to attract a good groomer.
My suggestion for the bathing system is the Hydrosurge Bathing System. They have a program where you get the system free if you purchase a minimum order of shampoo. Their shampoos are also quite nice so it is a win win. Their website is here. As for a velocity dryer the best of the best is the K-9 dryer series. These puppies last and last! They are available on PetEdge. Forever Stainless makes amazing tubs and each is custom made for your needs. They have a guarantee and are again the top in the industry. For grooming tables, I have heard good things about many brands. PetEdge has several for sale here. Hope that helps, and good luck with your business venture! |
