Default Wysong Issues Second Recall of Dry Dog Food

Wysong Issues Second Recall Of Some Dry Dog Foods

Wysong has expanded its recent recall to included more dry dog foods sold under the Wysong brand. These products have been found to be suspect in terms of moisture and water activity, but an in-house examination of many bags from these batches has turned up no sign of mold according to the company. Wysong is recalling the food as a precaution.

These products should not be fed to pets. They should be returned to the store where they were purchased for a full refund

The recalled dog foods are

Wysong Maintenance™ (lot# 090817)
Wysong Senior™ (lot# 090811)
Wysong Synorgon™ (lot# 090629)

“As with our previous recalled batches of product, we have no reason to believe that these products present an imminent hazard to animals,” said the company in a prepared statement.

Earlier Wysong recalled bags of food that were found to have mold. These bags of Wysong dry extruded maintenance and senior dog foods manufactured in June and July of 2009. The affected products from this recall are Wysong Maintenance and Wysong Senior. The lot numbers of the affected batches are as follows:

Wysong Maintenance lot #: 090617
Wysong Maintenance: lot #: 090624
Wysong Maintenance: lot #: 090706
Wysong Maintenance: lot #: 090720
Wysong Senior lot #: 090623

The lot numbers are on the top flaps of boxes and pressed into the bottom seal of bags. Anyone having difficulty reading the numbers on the bottom of the bags should contact the company. Anyone with any doubts about the safety of the food should stop feeding it to their pet immediately and contact the company. Here is Wysong’s contact information:

It's supposed to be, though it seems they can all have troubles. I read that a petsumer effort is setting up a rapid alert system for recalls with some companies, and Wysong has now joined them.

Do you think that this could have been the root of some of Seger's hotspots ???
