Default Lamb in dog food question

Ruckus did horrible with Diamond Lamb and Rice. messy stool, vomit bile daily, and dull coat.
Would you think that he does not do well on lamb, or does not do well on Diamond Lamb and Rice. I have been debating another Lamb based dog food.

The only way to really know is trial and error... you can either try another lamb based food, or another Diamond food... that will tell you.

It may be worth another try for the lamb -- but buy a small bag. It's a higher fat food and can cause gastric upset in dogs with sensitive systems.

he has been on diamond lamb and rice for most of his life, about two years! It wasnt until switching to another food, I realized his old dog food was the source of many of his problems.
before the diamond lamb and rice i fed nutro chicken and oatmeal puppy, made his fur fall out all over his face!
then we did taste of the wild, he wouldnt eat the stuff, and it made his breath and stool smell horrible
and we went to raw, he wouldnt gain wait and did poorly on that too. kept skin infections!

Have you tried California Naturals with him? You might try the Salmon flavour first since he's been on a chicken formula and a lamb formula in the past and not really done well with them. That stuff smells fishy though. I never noticed it giving Auggie fishy breath, but the food itself stinks when you open your food container.

Gonzo does very badly on any lamb kibble I've tried... he did OK with Acana Lamb, but he still had bad poops. He also vomits bile on almost any kibble in the world. He vomits less on some, but it's still a recurring thing. He never ever ever vomits on raw.

Oddly, he is TOTALLY fine with raw lamb. It makes me wonder about the quality/grade of lamb put into dry food. I would switch to a less common protein source, like fish/venison/bison/duck/etc, and grain free. It sounds like Ruckus has lots of allergies going on, so at least that would help eliminate some culprits.

thanks guys. Ruckus has been on a different food now for a few months and has been doing awesome! But they have a lamb flavor I was thinking of getting next bag... just for a change.
