When I was about 10 or 11 I was out riding my pony and my little poodle mix was running along with me. SHe ran into a patch of those and was just in agony. you couldn't pick her up, she had to have a hundred of them caught in her hair, under her belly, everywhere. So i went across the street to a farm house and knocked but no one was home. I turned the door knob and it wasn't locked so I went in and found a pair of scissors. I cut all of them out leaving a pile of hairy burs in the ditch, returned the scissors and left a note apologizing for coming in, i just dind't know what else to do.
Those are EVIL. All of my dogs have short hair that burs do not stick to. If they did have coats I would have to keep them shaved because running in the woods is something we do almost every day.

Poor thing. Blaze runs in those all the time (daily lol) they are brutal to get out. takes alot of patentice. Lucky when I get home I tell Blaze "o show grandma what happened" and he runs to my mom, and she will take them out, takes her up to a hour some days lol. what are moms for. lmao

Sawyer's got a fairly long coat and stickers pretty much brush right out of him. The only spot I've ever had trouble is his pants and that's only if he goes and gets soaked when he's full of burrs, then dries before I can brush them out. That tends to bind them in pretty tightly, but they'll still come out. It just takes a bit.

Nice photos, but I have to say after working at a holistic pet store for around 13 months... what are you feeding stella?

The colours in the kibble which I assume would be any of the: Yellow 5, Red 40, Yellow 6, Blue 2, are not good for dogs at all. They're not good to ingest and can cause organ problems in alot of dogs when they eat it for a long period of time. I'm not even sure why pet food uses colors because it's not like dogs care at all. Most food with color additives are also not good nutritionally wise, being mostly made of corn (and other grains) so the food is cheap for them to process and also so they can cheat on the crude analysis and bump up the protein percentage. I'd recommend going to Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble!

I've been able to break apart and take out some of the smaller batches without cutting her hair....but the one's that mashed into her little face....they were a nightmare and I felt like i had to cut them out to clear her face...

for food....we feed her nutro....those kibbles in the photo are just the few we give her a day as a reward.....I know...bad reward for good behavior!!

Stella is cute with the new haircut. Luckily my monsters have short hair. Burrs and stickers rarely stick to their hair.
