Does your vet do confirmation calls?
**was supposed to be a poll, but I messed it up, sorry***
Very simple, does your vet do confirmation calls. Back in Aug, I made an appt for Muffin to go to try a new vet. The particular guy I was recommended, was busy so I had to make an appt over a month in advance. My schedule is pretty much ALWAYS the same, so I don't use any calendars... I did put the appoitment down with a reminder to email me the day before to remind myself, and then I assumed they would call bc I have yet to go to a vet that hasn't. Anway, they didn't call, and I happened to not be able to check my email the day before, and I COMPLETELY forgot about the appt. When I called to reschedule the next avail appt wasn't going to be for another 3 weeks... so I asked them about a confirmation call, and they said they don't do them, only for surgeries. I asked if they could add me to the "surgery list" and just call me to confirm... they were very adament about NOT calling me, and if I forgot again they said they would charge me. I decided I'm not going to go to that vet. Every place I've ever known that holds appts always confirms... if not the day before than they do it a few days before... My office confirms(Financial planning) My hair salon confirms My dog training facility confirms My Drs all confirm Every vet I've been to till this point confirms My chiro confirms Heck, I had an appt to get my tires replaced and they even confirmed.

No, my vet doesn't call to confirm appointments.

all mine have so do all drs and any other appointment i make even with the portrait studio.

Breeze same here, everything that has an appt always confirms...
Lizmo, so you're vet is now only the 2nd place I know that doesn't... I wonder how many appts forget to go... I know I get people ALL the time, that say "OMG, I'm SO glad you called me! I totally forgot!!" That goes for this office and when I was calling for the vets... and I know I'm one of those people who forget. If I make the appt within a week or two I'm good... it's the 3+ weeks out that it starts to hit grey area, and once you reach 5 weeks... you can pretty much bet I'm going to forget....

The first vet I used didn't. The vet I use now does.
I use a calendar now because I'm so loaded up with different appointments and meetings, I have to do so to keep everything straight. But otherwise I probably would have forgotten as well.

I find it weird that they don't... I mean I know first hand how useful it is... both on the end of the appt keeper, as well as the person getting so many 'thank you, I completely forgot'
