Does your dog distroy its toys?
When we give logain new toys he distroyes them in five minuites. Does any of your dogs distroy its toys?

yes..unfortunately... LOL my floor gets covered with stuffing, strings from rope toys, and I even have had to help pull a few out of my dogs rear... such a lovely time
|

Yes...I get the Nyla bones for powerful chewers and my Chihuahua who had 5 teeth pulled still destroys them...not to mention my Pit/Shep mix (I think) ....my goodness, she really tears things up. Tennis balls last about 5 minutes if she's in the mood to chew them instead of simply retrieving them. Stuffed animals are out of the question...no brainer. LOL. Brats!

First thing we learn around here is that if you rip your toy it gets put up. Then it is sewn back together and given another chance. It doens't take long before they learn that ripping them up means losing them. Pepper still loves her horsey that has one ear. Once they learn not to chew up their toys then they get to have the super fun ones that talk or vibrate. It is just like anything else you teach them. All of my dogs have learned this lesson.

Never. I can give Meg the softest of stuffed animals, and while she will play with them frequently, I don't think she's ever torn one.

yes. mushroom will be gentle with his stuffies, sometimes for weeks, but then one day he decides they have to die. or luce gets ahold of them. she killerates everything she can get her mouth on. steve will destroy things sometimes, sometimes not. he likes to surgically remove squeakers, though.
i used to not let them have the toys if they were going to destroy them, but then what was the point of having them? i just don't buy expensive stuffies. i'll buy cheap ones at the thrift shop for a quarter or we'll get them as prizes (rally trials, class graduations) but i'm sure not spending my hard earned cash on stuffies.

Dekka.. yes. Even the 'tough toys' are dissected in less than 5 min. Its not a matter of 'allowing' it. That is how she plays with toys. If you tell her 'enough' she leaves the toy alone, but its either ignore toy or kill toy.
The whippets don't. Snip and Kaiden don't really play with toys. Kaiden cause hes not interested, Snip I think cause he's worried Dekka will come and steal it.
