Default Switching to 2 meals

Couple questions--

1. Is 6 months old a pretty reasonable age to cut out lunch and just feed 2x a day?

2. Juno gets diarrhea if she gets fed too much. Typically... would this happen if she eats too much per DAY or too much per MEAL? I'm a little worried that if she's eating roughly 1.5 cups in a sitting, she's gonna get the runny poos, even though at the end of the day she still ate the same amount.

3. Stupid question, probably an obvious answer... do you gradually start decreasing how much you feed them at lunch, until you're no longer giving them anything?

4. Is there really any reason to only feed twice a day? My mom is the one who feeds Juno lunch and if I told her to NOT feed her, she'd probably think I'm cruel and do it anyway. She thinks I'm starving her as it is by only giving her a certain amount at certain times. SO I'd like to know if there is actually a benefit or something to only feeding twice as opposed to 3 times, so she doesn't think I'm crazy.

Does she get diarrhea if she is fed too much of her kibble, or too much other stuff?

As long as she's fed the same amount over the course of the day, IMO it doesn't really matter whether you feed her twice or three times a day. If she does have a sensitive system, it would probably be helpful to feed her more often (it's less for her system to digest at any given time).

I'm coming at this from a bit of a different perspective, because my dog does have gastrointestinal issues, so it is actually better for him to be fed 3 or 4 times a day (and he's an adult).

Huhhh I didn't think of it that way. That may be it. On a typical day she really only gets her kibble (maybe a few tiny tiny bits of treats, and even more rarely a stuffed Kong). What I noticed is that once my mom started feeding her lunch (because I'm at school), she started getting diarrhea... so after a couple days of that I asked my mom how much she was feeding her, turns out she was giving her a whole cup, whereas I give her just a little over 3/4cup. There's really not much of a difference between the amounts, but it's apparently enough to mess with her stomach.

So maybe I should just keep things how they are with 3 meals.
