Do you feed once or twice a day? I've found a good meat company that sells stuff cheap and will be switching Sawyer over to raw as soon as I can.

I do once, it's just easier that way.

well I don't feed raw anymore(wish I could still afford it... but I can't do bulk due to space issues)... but I was feeding once a day... they don't really need that much to stay at an ideal weight... so you weren't really putting too much food on their gut all at once...
However, as bubba got sicker and sicker I started spliting up the meals...

I feed Mia twice a day so far. We're seeing how she takes that and how her weight does. I feed her small amounts twice a day, but you generally feed toy breeds more often than big breeds anyways.

It depends on the dog for me.
Bailey digests food really fast and will vomit bile if she only eats once a day regardless of meal size. I do make one meal larger than the other though. Breakfast usually consists of something small like eggs or organs. Buzz does much better eating once a day because then I let him do gorge/fast. He likes being able to eat as much as he wants.

I like to switch it up. Sometimes once, sometimes twice, sometimes three times and sometimes I won't feed him for a day. When Pit gets on a food schedule of any kind, he gets really obnoxious about it so I like to keep it different.

Twice a day. I give her chicken first, so she has to work at it. The second meal would be deer, liver, heart, fish, etc. Sometimes she's not hungry and will let the meat sit. She never overeats, and seems to prefer 2 meals. If she wanted it all in one meal, I'd do it.
Edit: I agree with the post above. Molly never expects to be fed at a set time. |

I measure Bailey's food (he needs to lose about 2 pounds and I'm transitioning from cooked to raw). Since he has GI issues, I try to feed as many times as I can; he eats no less than twice a day. Half of his food is a ground meat mix (with organs, eggs, yogurt and supplements added) and the other half is RMBs.

Twice a day.
her messy stuff is given in the morning, chicken hearts, messy meaty bones etc.. since she eats that meal outside

I should add, I fast mine once every 7-10 days. Not really an exact schedule, but there are times when we're not going to be home from early afternoon til late at night, so they will get fasted on that day. I don't want to feed them early and then have them stuck in the house all day with no one home to let them out, and I don't want to feed them at midnight. |
