Dog Sports Help please.

I have to write a speech for english about something I am are passionate about and I have decided to do mine on dog sports. It started of as dogs but there is no way I could fit that in 3 minutes so dog sports it is.

Can anyone give some information or links about when they started and when they where introduced to the UK.

Hi,

I did a quick Google search using History of Dog Agility and tons of information came up. Plus in many of the very old training books, for protection training/police dogs etc, they used equipment that although modified today it was clearly the idea behind developing Agility as we know it. You should be able to do the same for Flyball, Disc Dogs, Dock Diving and any other dog sport.

Since you like German Shepherds you might want to look up info on Schutzhund...there's a LOT of history about it concerning it started out as a breed test for the GSD in Germany. Here's a good link to get you started:
