My fiance's father and his father's "pom" (I really think it's a mix) are living with us for the time being. It is evil! I cannot walk through my home without it growling at me or Noel. It barks everytime someone makes a noise. If Noel's dad is around he stays in his lap and tries to bite anyone who comes close and if you try to talk to that man the dog interrupts.. on purpose. It gets between you and barks and will not stop for anything. I do not like this dog and I am a huge dog lover. I own poms myself and I love them to death. This thing is also very big... and not house broken. My main issue though is his problem with anyone killing a bug. If anyone steps on or swats at a bug the dog will attack you. What do I do... other than give it away and just say that I don't know where it is?
I cannot say anything to the man either. He says "That's my little buddy, he can do whatever he wants." The man feeds him icecream from Sonic!!! My biggest pet peave is someone feeding their dog something I cook and he does it everyday! YEs, my issues are with the man and the dog

People like that are why little dogs get a bad reputation. It is not the dog's fault that he is taught to be the way he is. And if this man doesn't want anything to change, there's nothing you can do. If he can be convinced that these behaviors can be modified with kind and gentle training methods, and that is what he'd like, come back and post in the training section.
