The valley

Last one i promise. I wanted to share the panoramic view. Besides Mary's in it and she looks happy. THe tree in the pic is one Zoom the monkey has climbed on almost every occasion. I took a great pic of her hanging upside down from it with Sawyer trying to see what's "up" haha with his mum.

Do you miss it Zoomer? You prolly have all new fun places to explore. I would like to think that this one ranks in the special. IN some ways i like it more than the dog park if for no other reason it smells of deer, and wild and wood things that please Victor to no end. I love laying up on the picnic table watching the birds soar over, lots of barn swallows, night hawk too. Higgs inhaled a baltimore oriel chick and i felt so bad. There was no way to catch him in time. He just swallowed it whole while we were running to stop him. The parents were so upset which is why i know what the chick was. There are deer but since they have mowed i haven't seen any ticks.Surprisingly few chiggars too since i walk it almost daily. I didn't go down to the neatest part where the ground undulates and the ground rises up like a bowl giving you an almost dizzy feeling. I thought i broke my son's camera before i could get there and left in a panic. Actuall i had a melt down, i have been trying to do this for so long and i thought now i never will. My son fixed it for me so hopefully i can soon. IT's crazy good and i would like to film the dogs down there. They can be100 yards in front of you and then just dissapear like magic. THere is some particular grass that grows in a ribbon down there that the dogs rip at like it was the fountain of youth. I have seen every dog that goes there do the same thing.

This place saved Victor in the beginning. WE would be up at dawn where he could run for an hour or so. IT took the edge off of his anxiety and add hyperactivity. Pepper had to stay on a leash for so long watching the other dogs have a blast. Then finally she got it. I think it had something to do with her loss of the bad habit of running away. A big yard would never be enough for either of my two and i could never walk either enough to satisfy. Mary never walks around this much in the yard either. But here she does and it certainly gets her bowels moving which is essential in an old dog like her. I think an awful lot of dogs get sick from impaction and people just blame it on their age.

The Valley will always be special as will the woods. I have found some neat places around here (I'll get the pics up eventually) but each place has it's own magic. I won't find a hidden valley like that one around here, not enough oak and maple to give the same effect. The aspens are neat and the pines smell great, but they can't really create the same cathedral feeling. And our valleys here are too full of rocks for a smooth open space like that. I'm glad you got the video!

I have one more of Pepper doing the rest of her tricks but that's it. I wanted to share my valley and my dogs with you. It was important to me and i got so frustrated along the way with my computer shutting the cameras off and on and on and on. I know you all have a fondness for Mary which touches my heart like you wouldn't believe.

AS to the valley...can you think of a better place to run a 5 month old hyperactive pointer? He would literally be bouncing on the bed and off the walls at 5 am. HE was like a rubber ball in mid bounce until your ran it off. He could run around and around in these enormous circles here. THere is nothing i could ever make that would be as beautiful as seeing Victor in the valley. THey call it hidden valley but i like Vic's valley better. The video is awesome, and you're right Mary looks so happy. Victor looks full of life as always, and that tail, I just love it. I'm glad you have such special places to take them all. The picture Zoom took is great.

Tell you what..today i feel like my back is against the wall. I don't know if i should give up..stop the struggle, focus on Hyia and let it go. WHich makes me choke up i so do not want to but this health battle is alot harder then i ever let on. Maybe it's just the change of med or maybe not. BUt i know one thing for sure, I will feel alot better when i take the dogs this evening and watch the moon come up with Hy while the dogs get the run they need. I am grateful for this place for it does bring me peace. I wish some of my friends had such a place to defuse.
