Pepper has learned "stop"
In the video at one point Hyia went past in her bicycle and she said Pepper's name making Pepper think OHBOY but she didn't. THis is a pretty hard test for Pepper and we work on this each day. She wants that field so bad she can hardly stand it but there is only one way to get me down there.
She will stop even if a squirrel runs right under her nose. I am very proud of this because if you knew Pepper in the beginning   videos :: CIMG1395.flv video by smkie - Photobucket

I got better Pepper ones coming up...especially her learning to speak is my favorite. I use b words to try to trick her because my cue word is BACK for release.

I give her 15 minutes of being high on rabbit trails in that field then i call her back. SHe runs back as fast as she runs out. Pepper obviously is a tightly wound dog. Use to dart like that out of my front door and dissapeared just as fast..back then that meant hour or more of searching with the car. So this is progress. Now she knows where she can run and how far to go. It think she learned that mostly from Victor...the staying within vocal range.

It's so great to see her moving -- she could be a smaller version of Tallulah, the way she's put together

SHe's a tight one. all muscle. In her trick video and even her hoop you can see her look towards that field...yes it's still there. THat's why this walk and stopping was extra hard for her. SHe wants to go so bad it was the ultimate temptation. Knowing they get to run after a session really helps. THey do badly we don't go. Doesn't take more than a couple times and they know it for sure.
A lot of people guess pitty mix. I did too until i saw a staffie book and there she was almost...then when i went with logan and he had a boston with him it was just so obvious. SHe has the same apple head..and upturned chinny chop. Tho Tbone's muzzle looks like a bigger version so that might not mean anything. That car that passed was only a few feet from us. One thing about making them sit when the car comes everytime is i know they are listening for it and it gets a cautious reaction. WE never move until the car has passed. YOu can tell she is ready to sit before i tell her to. I was so afraid i would find her dead in the road the first umpteen times she made a break for it. I never could just wait until she came back even tho i was certain she would. SHe ran across the roads just like she ran into that field. Scared me to death. WE worked on road awareness EVERYDAY without fail.

From her size I'd guess there's some Boston in there, too. At least half of her is Pittie, though, I'd wager -- looks, vocalizations, mannerisms, the way she moves. Except for a little more roundness in the head and muzzle, she could be a dark, miniature version of 'Lulah, lol.
