Default Furminator

I bought my first, actual brand-name Furminator today for $30 (a large one with the waterless soap stuff) from craigslist, brand new in the package!

My God, I've never seen so much fur come off a dog in my life...can you over-use it and strip too much out? Am I doing this right, because I had a whole dog worth of hair that came off (filled a 30 gal trash bag) just off Lacey!

I now have evidence, here's a shot of a few strokes out...just Lacey...I didn't have time or energy to do Jasper after Lacey...

Sorry about the foot in it Jess.

Oh no, Lacey has melted where is Lacey? Only kidding. They do take off a lot of hair.

You can cause balding in spots with it. And I wouldnt even touch Jasper with it. I used mineon Blaze before I knew better, and it just broke all his long hair in to short little pieces that stood up like fly away hairs all over.

Well Jasper has already had the wrath of my scissors done to him, it' can't get much worse than that (imagine a 4 yr old with scissors cutting the dogs hair, looks the same)

Lacey's a lot smoother feeling and no more tangles on her back legs so I'm rather happy with it, and that waterless shampoo/conditioner smells great!

I have been wondering if it would work on the Fila monsters? I would like to find a really good brush for them.

I tried it on Lily, it doesn't pick up anything because she has no undercoat, doesn't even cut the top coat because her's is so short. I was under the impression that Fila's are a very short plush coat like an APBT? I could be wrong, I've never seen one in person.

They do have short coats, so I guess I won't waste the money if it won't work.

I need to train the monsters to let me use the vacuum on them.

Just don't use it every day and it should be fine. Justin was obsessed with using it on our cat every day even though I told him not to and he ended up with some pretty bad bald spots.

The Furminator shampoo did well, but I have been leary of the tools. I don't think I trust them.
