Default Lacy Dogs

I was checking the Lacy Dog website out because of another thread, and they seem like nice all around dogs, when they have a job to do. This picture though, made me WOW.

Also, for those of you that have worked hogs, what's with the super wide collars? Does it help protect the neck and throat?

Why? Neither picture is graphic or disturbing. Dogs hunt. That's what they do. These dogs help control pests and help put meat on the table. Lots of dogs do that. Even Goldens do. Or USED to anyway.

in the top pic the dog looks to be decoying the coyote for the shooter. this requires the dog to harass the coyote (to include nipping & biting) as it runs away. then when the coyote decides to make a fight of it the dog runs back to the shooter w/ the coyote in tow.
originally the cut collars were made of two or three plys of leather, then came quilted wet felt, ballistic nylon & kevlar.
my Jack dog used a custon ballistic nylon from Ugly Dog Ranch.
I have to agree the pics aren't graphic. I've got messier pics than that. I just don't show them to the general public to often.

That's pretty interesting Pops. I was reading about them and they seem like a LOT of dog for the average person who doesn't own a ranch. They're very beautiful though with the diluted colors they seem to come in most commonly.

Coyote baiting seems very dangerous for a dog, lol, but I guess if they didn't enjoy it, they wouldn't do it

Coyotes really arent that big. And Im sure if the dogs are bred for that purpose they have the equipment to outrun them and the equipment to hold up a fight.

Kacee chased off a coyote that was getting very close to us in a feild last year.. I thought I had lost her that day. But she came trotting back happy as could be.The fact that she is bigger then most coyotes may have helped.. lol

Not sure about Lacy Dogs or 'baiting, but, if you detach any real world meaning to the first picture, it's hilarious!

"Oooh!"
