Default Pepper has a growth

Two days ago my sister noticed Pepper, our black cocker, had a pink/red mass off her gumline near her right upper canine. Pepper's teeth were cleaned last year sometime, but she had been needing a dental. The canine is covered in plaque.

Right now, I am hoping it is an abscess due to the plague and needing teeth cleaned. The mass does seem "loose" so I'm hopeful that it doesn't involve her upper jaw bone.

My sister just lost Spooky to cancer a very short time again, and I don't know how she could manage to deal with her heart dog being diagnosed with cancer as well.

So vibes will be greatly appreciated. She has an appointment Tuesday morning for a PE, and then will be scheduled for a dental. Depending on what doc says (suspicious mass or a mere abscess), we aren't sure yet if once the mass is removed if it will need to be sent into the lab.

Good news! The vet *thinks* it is benign. She's going in Friday for a dental and to remove the mass. He also tested all her little old lady cysts, and they aren't anything to worry about.

So, we'll just rely on his opinion for now, and hope the results of the tests when the mass is sent in confirms his opinion.

Hopefully it's just an epulus like what Sawyer has. They look horrible but are typically benign. His needs taken off again.
