Having been in the horse show world I've seen this type of thing happen . Many horses in the upper ranks are highly insured and if the aren't performing " mysterious " things happened . Poisonings , fires etc which take out other horses too . We showed class A against 2 mafia owned stables . The #1 was/is from Chicago and are still showing top horses . In this stable a groom mysterious disappeared ( between and Indy and Chicago ) and there were two murdered members . When Amy cut one off in a class and he told her if she did that again , he'd break both of her legs I took it seriously ! His was a $12,000 horse ....we paid $400 and did our our training.

It looks like many horses are having a bad time now. It's really sad, this is such a cold look at it all here:

Bubbatd, I'm familiar with issues in Chicago, (not specifically horses...), and was lucky to get out of there alive myself.
