hi,
i got my cavalier groomed (bathed and shaved down for the summer) on Thursday. After that, I noticed that he had a couple of pinkish spots that kind of look like bug bites and also he had a little scabby bump. the scabby spot i picked a little bit so it started falling off but now it's just kind of hanging there. i was just wondering if this is something that could result from the clippers - like an irritation orsomething ofthat sort...he's not bothered by the spots at all except when i try to like pick at his scabby spot, which i've stopped doing. he's not itchy or anything, and they don't look infected. i can take pictures too, but i'm not like super worried - just concerned a little bit. |

It could be. but I know that there are many dogs that come in for a shave down and they already have bumps like you are talking about on their skin. Not caused from clippers or shampoo, etc...
They had them bumps before they came to me.

i understand what you're talking about, but i check my dog regularly for bumps, scratches, etc.
i'm almost 100% positive he didn't have these before and i'm not trying to blame the groomer or anything...justwondering if this it's possible to be from the clipper or something |

yup, its possible.
some groomers spray smelly goods on the dogs, maybe he had an irritation to that. Or the clippers may had gotten too hot and that irritated him. I would tell the groomer next time you go in. No sprays, use oatmeal or hypo allergic shampoos. Tell them that he seems to have sensitive skin, and they should even keep a better eye to make sure the clipper blades are nice a cool. Some dogs those blades just get a little bit warm and it irritates the dog, while others it doesnt bother.
