Default Anyone want to play the guessing game?

I had a DNA test done on my dog so I should know the results in a few weeks. I have heard so many opinions on what he might be. Any ideas, suggestions, guesses?

Don't expect the DNA test to be accurate. It is fun to see what they come up with, but they are just not accurate. There's truly no way to know breed of dog without knowing the lineage of the parents.

However, I could definitely see reason to guess Akita. How much does he weigh? height?

Akita/shepherd?

Those DNA tests are notoriously unreliable. We've got a member here, her dog is a black and white male, somewhere around 100lbs. Our best guesses were pointer/dane. The DNA test came back and said he was predominantly *Maltese*.

lovely dog! but don't put any faith in those DNA tests.. they are NOT reliable on any level.. i have posted why many times on this forum.. if you want to know why I can find or retype it. (ppl get fooled into thinking because DNA is used in courts the breed tests work.... as a forensic biotechnologist I can tell you that your DNA can't be used to 'prove' your ethnicity...)

Which test did you do? I'm curious, because after having some really good laughs over the swab tests, I now know 4 different dogs who have had the blood test done, and three came back very reasonable, including one known purebred who came back as such. The fourth dog I have never actually seen, but was told the results didn't make much sense.

it has nothing to do with swab vs blood. I have extracted DNA from both, its no biggy. Its the fact its all a statistics game that is the problem.
