Default Please help, need to rehome my dog by the end of August!

This is probably going to be a bit long.

About a month ago i was robbed..they stole all of my electronics and 3 of my birds (i know several of you know the story). I only found one. but since then me and my husband have been looking for a place to move, we do not feel safe here, and have a huge fear theyll come back. Were kind of easy targets.

So my boss bought a townhome to rent out..thats bigger than the house were renting now and about 20 min away. Hes going to charge is the same price were paying now, which is great. But theres only one problem..the HOA only allows ONE dog, period. They dont care about caged animals so my birds are okay..but now im STUCK.

A little background on Buddy. I found him March 25th of last year. He was skinny, starving, and very VERY tempermental. The vet believes he was abused. I never intended to keep him, but after not finding the owners, i could never find anyone to take him so he just stayed.

Typhanie was going to take him, but now that shes in the army its a bit impossible. I also had a couple of other people say theyd take him, and backed out. Now im panicking because my boss will NOT let me take him.

Hes 17lbs and a mix. The vet believes some kind of terrier and datsun because his legs are a bit short. Hes leery of new people (needs to be muzzled at the vet..he HATES them) but once he knows you, hes such a happy, jumpy, sweet loving dog. He gets along great with my westie mix. He used to be food aggressive, but over the months that seems to have faded (i think it was from being on the streets).

He also has a marking problem. Please do NOT think this is the reason I am giving him up. He was never supposed to stay with me in the first place, and i feel horrible ive waited so long. But he marks everything. Ive been between crate training and locking him in the kitchen when i leave. He needs to be watched.

The vet says hes about 2- 2 1/2 but he acts just like a puppy. So hyper and jumpy. I NEED to find him a home!! We will be out before september first. Is anyone willing to take him? Or even foster him until THEY can find him a home? Or even a rescue that will take him. I really dont want to bring him to the pound! Heres some pics. Hes not as shaggy being that he was just shaved. I am in Phoenix Arizona

Try Not so Grande dog rescue in Tucson, they specialize in small dogs.

The Animal League of Greene Valley might also be an option. If anything, they will do courtesy listings for people trying to find homes for their animals.

We worked with several of these groups while living in Tucson, one of them may be able to help you, or direct you to someone who can help. I'm so sorry you're going through all this. *hugs*
