Default Prrof that online friendships are jsut as powerful

and if you scof at this and think it's silly... well than PLEASE do NOT post here. this is not a thread for your opinion seriously

I as well as many others are very sad tonight. and we all ask for prayers for this family

a friend that many have made on etsy.com has passed away. LONG before her time. she was only 34 years old.

She was a dear friend to so many people. and even though we hadn't MET her in real life... she was fixture. she was such a wonderful person. she LOVED animals. Was a big into rescue and saving animals. She did not have children but her children were her pets and the animals she TRIED to save

Her name on etsy was chromasmear. she was a fixture.

she passed away yesterday after a river rafting accident. Her poor mother came on to close down her shop and to let people know.

PLEASE... I do NOT want to hear ANY opinions about how this doesn't matter since this isn't someone we know in real life..> NOR do I want to hear talk that this is a scam.

I cannot IMAGINE being a mother who has lost her child. I have lost a baby but... a child that has grown in to a adult? I don't think this is something I could over come.

Her mother has only asked that those who wish to please donate to their local animal shelter.

I am SERIOUS. if you do have anythign negative to add about this online friendship... STAY OUT. I do NOT want to hear your opinion.

sorry if I am being abrassive... but the news that this person has passed along with the idea that she was not much older that I has hit me very hard. so please send prayers

Hugs and vibes for everyone who knew her...

There is plenty of proof that online relationships can be just as powerful, heck, look at many of us on here!

Hey Tanya, I'm really sorry for your loss. No matter what the relationship, she meant something to you. I mourned for an online friend a couple of years ago. It's no different from someone I knew via flesh and bone vs. Bits and bytes.

Exactly, Zoom and Eddie! It's not "just the internet" if you have truly invested yourself in the friendship -- or relationship.

That was so very thoughtful of her mother to take the time in the midst of her grief to let her daughter's friends know of their loss. I cannot imagine the pain she is feeling.

it's not just 'an internet friendship' it's just 'a friendship'

i've made a couple friends here and there online. one even wired me money from the netherlands when i first ran away from home. i have never met him face to face but he was there for me during a hard time.

i even have members here who offered help the first couple times yoshi bloated. i ended up not needing help but the fact that they offered speaks a lot to me.

just because everyone knew her through the net doesn't mean anyone will miss her any less

I'm so sorry for your loss Sparks. Online friendships can be just as meaningful if not more meaningful and any loss is not easy.
