Cool Hello, I'm New Here

Hello Everybody,

Well, ok, we got our labrador retriever pups lastnight, but after the long drive to the breeders and spending about 6 hours with 10 puppies in a kitchen while trying to play with our pups, it was nearly midnight before we left the breeders house.

Of course, these pups are only 8 weeks old, so their still quite hyper and puppy like in behavior and we’re going to have to learn how to train them and cope with the high energy level. I wonder what great adventures the years ahead will hold for us and these two beautiful babies?

I would like everybody to meet Lxara ( male yellow ) and Kineta ( female black )

Hey ya, man had to comment on your beautiful additions! haha I cant wait to get some photos up here of our lab....

This makes me want to get another puppy!!!
Good luck mate... ours tried to eat everything... imean everything... avocados, fruit, my seedlings out of the garden when young., hahaha!.. was told they think with their stomachs haha.
Anyway, we got lot (i mean lots) of cool chew toys etc, ended up making them out too! Frisbees are a great invention as well as the good ole ball! I am just going to purchase a product off the internet after reading someone elses recommendation on here re training our black lab Betty... barks at everything, even in the car etc etc, but she's a honey, mostly when noone else around haha! More cheeky than anything!!! I decided to share this secure clickbank link as pretty cool that my friends recommended then another user on this was recommended also (heaps of info on net so hope this helps :-))
Sorry just came back in to edit and have deleted the link, as someone has said on one of my posts that Im not helping people by giving you the link but that its spam!!! Sorry mate feel stink now, not intended that way...she may be a trainer? lol! anyway good luck and all the best! Love labs! and need to train ours haha!!!

Well, i never learnt to minimise my word count and apologise for the long winded email, but hey....its a forum hahaha

Good luck mate :-)

Welcome to Chaz! And cute puppies!

Raising two puppies at once - and litter mates at that - is extremely challenging! I hope you have done a lot of research before choosing to undertake this task, most of the experts here - and most breeders as well - don't suggest getting two puppies at the same time.

But, I'm glad you're here! Good luck!

I agree that's its hard[er] but I have two puppies right now (non-littermates) and while it is a little bit more extra work, they also tire each other out more than I can, and have a buddy their size to play with.

Good luck!

We wanted two pups, and we know the commitment will be double the duty. Yes, it will take twice the amount of time to train. Yes, it will be twice the work.

These pups will have their own space, to develop their own personalities. They will have lots and lots of “only dog” time.. We know they need to establish their own "identity" and have a pack-leader. We also know keeping the siblings together at all times will create two parts of a whole, not two individuals and we don't want that.

Everything that's done with these pups will be done separately.

They will be crated separately ( in separate rooms.)

They will be fed separately.

They will be walked separately.

They will be played with separately.

They will be taken to the vets separately.

They will be trained separately.

They will be shown separtely

I've known several families that have raised littermates together and they all turned out to be fine and happy dogs. I'm not expecting anyone to agree with what I do I just want to share my experiences. I am sure that some of my actions are ignornant but who isn't in some way or another? We all have to learn somehow. We are all here to serve a purpose and sometimes enjoying life and the little events that are great. I am sure there are people who disapprove of me raising two pups together but this is my life, not theirs.
