Default Toddler flushes puppy down toilet, dog rescued from sewer

My Mom cut this out of the TorStar and left it on my computer..

Why do they have a 1 week old puppy.. and what was a 4 year old doing with it that it could get dirty..

That child should not have been left alone with that puppy.

AND that puppy should not be away from its mom. One WEEK old?! Thats insane.

Stare at this kid for a few minutes and tell me youre not looking into the eyes of a future serial killer

I heard about this but never hear the age of the puppy . Obviously this was a home whelp and the kid should have been watched !!!

Flushing a puppy down the toilet does not mean that a four year old child has developing homicidal tendencies. Little kids just like to flush things down toilets. A puppy that little would seem like a cute fuzzy toy to him. Parents shouldn't leave animals alone with children. Tiny animals, while not typically flushed down the toilet, can get mishandled, squished, dropped, etc. People are dumb.

Are you kidding me? No where in that article did the boy sound malicious or did it with bad intentions. A four year old doesn't know how to properly care for a puppy and what should or should not be done. Sorry, but I blame the parents wholeheartedly, that puppy should not have been left alone, let alone at that age, with a toddler. Should he have known that flushing would have caused the puppy to go down the drain? There's a possibility, but I also know when my brothers were that age, they didn't comprehend or think things through all the way. So no, I don't see a future serial killer.

That's actually really mean to say about a small child, no matter how creepy they look.
Little kids like that don't flush things to be "bad" - although this kid's a bit old to be playing the "David Copperfield Game".

Parents should have been watching little Junior there, and shouldn't let him play with virtually newborn puppies...end of story.

Wow. I have to disagree with "the boy didn't know any better" idea floating around. I've been around enough four year olds to know that they do things they are specifically told NOT to do, to see what the reaction was. Sure he didn't have the forethought to figure out what could happen to the puppy if he flushed it, but surely he'd been told to not flush OTHER things down the toilet. Surely he was told to not play in it. He's 4 so likely he's washed his own excrement go down the toilet. I have no doubt he just wanted to see what happened then got scared because the pup was gone. (I imagine this is how one would feel if they tried to let their younger sibling go down the drain with the bathwater and it actually happened... )

Anyway, he should have been being watched, but four year old kids can get into stuff pretty quickly before a parent notices. And if the theory that this is one of a litter that was born in the house is true, it's likely that mom was taking care of other "babies" and didn't notice where her son went. I'm not saying it's okay, but sometimes, stuff happens. If had been a stuffie and not a real pup, which I imagine happens often, it wouldn't be news.
Anyway, sad for the family, sad for the pup, good thing he's okay, life will go on.

Oh, and I'm not saying he WILL grow up to be a serial killer but that is one intense looking 4 year old kid. Can't judge just by looks but I agree there is something in his eyes that screams "up to no good" (I think it's the thing in EVERY 4 year old's eyes, come to think of it )

Also, does this remind ANYONE else of Tiny Toon Adventures where Baby Plucky starts flushing EVERYTHING down the toilet until it starts backing up? "Peepee go down the hooole. Quackquack go down the hoooole. Bye Bye quackquack!" and so on?

LOL I remember that episode Sunny!

However, I have to disagree, most 4 year olds are "mature" enough (for their age) to know better and are easier to watch than say a 2 year old. Since my oldest is 5 he is much and has been much more reliable to not be as destructive as his younger brother. His mom might have been busy, but if she was attending to a new litter of puppies surely she would notice he had one...I'm just curious as to what business a child that young has with a puppy that young...sounds dangerous for everyone involved. I think it goes without saying that he probably sneaked off with the pup, which is dangerous for him because what if momma dog had been protective and bitten him? Bad outcomes all around. Good thing everyone, including Flush-puppy is ok!

Also, most boys have that "up to no good" look IMO, lol.

Thank you.

All I meant was, if you're going to take a picture of the child to show he doesn't want the puppy dead, one where it looks like he is about to kill the puppy, is probably not the best choice.

I dont ACTUALLY think his ACTIONS will lead to him being a serial killer, but then again, who knows.

Im just saying that the look in his eyes was a little creepy.

I still think hes a cute kid, though.
