Taking it outside

I was wondering about taking my pup outside to take care of his business?? He currently is taking care of business in his room, but it starting to smell and our family thinks its better if he takes it outside while we walk him. Thank You

Definitely take it outside! It's going to take some work and patience to get him to tell you when he has to go out now, since you've been having him go in his room; that's against a dog's innate desire not to soil his own area.

Any suggestion how or any tips? I remember i went to a potty training class, all I remember is not to look at him/her when he/she is taking care of business. Just turn your back on him, and say good boy name. So if anyone has any other tips or suggestion in training my pup to "take it outside" feel free to post. Thank you all
