Why an OFA FAIR hip rating does not concern me
Well, not in this case anyway. I love the OFA's website, and I do research there frequently.
In the case of the potential sire of the Double litter, take a look at his vertical pedigree regarding hips. OFA: Display OFA Records You can see that his sire is OFA excellent. If you click on the sire's name you can see that he has so far produced 4 normal offspring. 2 Goods and 2 Fairs. His dam is OFA Good. If you click on her name, you can see that she has a sibling that is also OFA good, and has 12 offspring in the OFA data base. Of the 12, there is one excellent, 6 good, 4 fair, and 1 Mild in ONE hip. If we go on to the grand parents, we see that the sire of the dam is OFA excellent, with 3 OFA excellent littermates. This dog has 20 progeny in the data base: 5 excellent, 13 good, 1 fair, and one mild Uni. The pedigree behind the sire should produce a very good ratio of normal hips, according to what is in the data base. In Rottweilers we have a percentage of 18% dysplastic according to the OFA. So no matter WHAT you do, you are going to get SOME dysplastic offspring occasionally. I am comfortable with this choice regarding the hip background tho.

Well, considering the flak you got for the Choice litter and elbow and exactly how many bad elbows have you got from Choice? LOL!
You have one darn good gutt on you and I would say trust it!!!

Well, I will say that at this time the jury is still out on the health testing for the Choice litter but the preliminary results were encouraging:
4 normal elbow prelims 4 normal (1 excellent/3 good) hip ratings It will be interesting to see what they all get in September.
