Default Just an observation and warning for deer populated areas

It happened again this evening. An ambulance went by with sirens and Hyia said she heard a screeeetch thud, another deer got hit, startled out of the edge of the wood by the sound. WE saw this happen on the highway, when again, an ambulance went by and a buck dove right into traffic and was hit, not enough to kill it on the spot, which is just worse. There would be no way to find it, an we get a whole lot of that found in the woods here. So now when I hear a siren, my eyes are not only looking to see where it is coming, but looking at the edge of the woods too. Don't know if it is all sirens, or just the ambulance. I never want to hit a deer and drive with common sense, I have seen them at one on clock in the afternoon, not just dawn and dusk. We watched one very road wise buck carefully, slowly, cross, and i told Hyia, wait and watch there will always be more. WE passed him slowly, and she said several does crossed behind us. That's easy to watch for but one that is startled out of it's wits, is a whole different story.

Side by side on the sofa sat three annoyed dogs and one smug cat
and then in came a little white kitten,
