What a great idea for a thread! If I had a dollar for every "why is he/she so thin?" comment... I feel like I need a sign: My dog is not thin, this is what a healthy weight looks like!! Sorry... /rant LOL!

Anyway. Will try to get shots of the of the other two later today, but here are Bates and Breez on their walk this morning.

Bates:

Amount you feed per day: 4 to 4.5 cups per day split in to two meals (this is a LOT of kibble, so I add fatty ground meat a few times a week to keep from having to feed so much.

How active your dog is: Very! 3 to 5 mile leash walk at a brisk trot every morning, swimming, and lots of land to zoomie on
Don't mind the buzz cut on his side - what's left of the mess he made 2 weeks ago impaling himself on a tree brach while running mach 5 through the woods


Breez:

On both dogs you can see the last rib or two depending on the light and how they're moving. If they lay on a hard surface, you can see even more.

It's not just you. I'm told regularly that my dogs are emaciated. I'm told I'm an awful owner who doesn't care to feed them enough. Fantastic.

Wow. I might have to say something *ahem* "direct" to that kind of comment. I usually get a question, "WHY is he/she so thin." But every once in a while I get the smart azz "geez don't you ever feed the poor dog?"

I dunno... do you ever exercise or train yours?

Sighthounds suck for that. No matter what you do they are built like a knife blade (I mean even if you try to over feed them, they just end up squishy blades)..

So far I haven't gotten that for the JRTs.

Oy guess I know what I have to look forward to when I get my Ibizan.

I haven't been told Bamm is too thin in a long time. It's probably because he has quite a bit of coat that makes him appear bigger than he is. Cricket I'm constantly hearing that she is too thin. In person she actually looks more sighthoundy actually than she does in person.... Well... She looks sighthound mixed with like Mal or something. But... She doesn't look too thin to me. And... She's still technically a pup... Hasn't filled out with muscle yet
