What breed has the least...........

It only seems as if the more 'natural' breeds are healthier. If you DO NOT test, which is the case in the breeds with 'no recorded health issues', the you cannot know what is out there.

This is why people insist that mutts are healthier with less genetic diseases. This is not true, the only reason there is no record of health issues in mutts is because you cannot OFA a mutt you cant CERF a mutt. And what RESPONSIBLE mixed breed breeder will health test their dogs before breeding? I bet you can't find even one.

The reason mutts may be healthier (not necessarily) is that they tend toward having a more diverse gene pool. The more diversity, the lower the probability for genetic drift and therefore, defects.

To be fair though, more natural breeds have selected themselves, as opposed to human selection of what we view to be the best. Natural selection tends to be a bit healthier, I think.

As with NGSD's, there aren't many out there, and the ones that are there are kept as healthy as humanly possible because of their low numbers.
