Serious, and Jake will back me on this: The Name of the Wind, Patrick Rothfuss. We have both read it several times. And the sequel.
^^^^YESSSSSS.

But be warned (because I didn't know this when I read it last year): it's a trilogy, and the third book isn't written yet. Could be years. To make it even better, the second book ends in a bit of a cliffhanger. ENJOY!

Seriously, I swore off reading incomplete series after several difficult long waits. *sigh*

When I travel, I usually just want a "fluff" book that's entertaining but not too thought-provoking. And also not too thick, heavy books are annoying to lug around an airport. :) That said, I usually just pick out something from the airport bookstore, whatever I feel like that particular day. If I can't find a book to buy, I'll get my favorite guilty pleasure: Entertainment Weekly magazine. :D

Happy travels!
