You was 4 weeks old when I brought you home.found under an old shed with flea"s an worms an so skinny. I picked you up an you licked my face an made the cuttest little wimper. I wispered in your ear that you was going home with me.you wagged your tale. You was my Love my life my soul.My Baby Rocket Hound.Oh How I miss you.
Your Leash Hangs by the Door. your paw prints Forever enbeded on my Heart.
I had you for 14 short years. But Oh the memories I have of My Beloved Rocky.

When I laughed you was happy. When I cried you caught my tears, when I was sick you never left my side. it has been 8 months but My Pain still takes my breath away. I rush home to take you out but your not there. I wake up an reach down to touch you by the side of my bed. You was such a wonderful friend.

I have tried to move on an have rescued other Dogs as I know you would want me to do_Oh But Does My Heart still cry for you.

I Know you are free of pain an can run free with Rodie now. you are just so sadly Missed dear Friend. But Run Free My Sweet sweet Puppy

You Was My Best Friend, Truely My Heart Dog. May You Rest In peace Dear friend. You Will Never be forgotten. It Was an Honer to be your Mommy.Until we meet at the rainbow bridge.

IN Loving Memory

I'm sorry about Rocky, too. Your post made me cry. My mini schnauzer (Peppi) died in 2003 about a month before her 9th birthday, and I still miss her even though I now have two other dogs.

I stumbled across this and loved it. Maybe it will help you to allow yourself to let your next beloved friend into your life :)

The Legacy

When humans die, they make a will
To leave their homes and all they haveto those they love.
I, too, would make a will if I could write.
To some poor wistful, lonely stray
I leave my happy home,
My dish, my cosy bed, my cushioned chair, my toy.
The well loved lap, the gentle stroking hand, the loving voice,
The place I made in someone's heart,
The love that at the last could help me toa peaceful painless end
Held in loving arms.

If I should die,
Oh do not say,
"No more a pet I'll have,to grieve me by it's loss"
Seek out some lonely, unloved dog
And give my place to him.
This is the legacy I leave behind -'tis all I have to give.

Thank You

thank all of you it is still very painful. But we have to go on.
I have rescued a few other Dogs, But try as I might I just can't give them my heart.

Renee I read the Legacy an it made me stop an think.
I know my wonderful Boy would want me to Give all the love I have to another
wonderful Dog. He was never selfish an loved other animals. He always knew he was top dog *smile*
Odd thing is on a freezing cold day a old coonhound was laying by his grave.
very starved an abused from the way he acted. you could see every rib.
it was almost as if rocky spirit climb up out of that grave. I took this dog in an have given him some happiness.

again thank all of you for your kind words.
This is a pain we all will face an I know it is never easy.

His body is gone but your love for each other and his memory will live on forever. You will meet again one day in a place where your sorrow will be wiped away. I believe there can't be a heaven without dogs.

When we take on a dog , we know their lives are shorter than ours . We love them to death and even after death they are part of us . Every dog I've had has been special to me . They live on in my heart forever.
