Aw, Beanie :( Family sucks. I'm glad someone IRL acknowledged your accomplishments!

My rant is someone on a fitness group on FB is trying to pressure me into some sort of challenge that I DO NOT want to do. I don't need someone to hold me accountable. I have Rick and I have the 2013 thread on here for support. I don't need some random woman I've never spoken to up until now to tell me to take pictures and measurements of myself before and after, while implying I will fail if I do not join the challenge.

No. F**k off.

Sometimes being allergic to bananas sucks for more than one reason.

First of all, I'm dying for banana pudding. OMG so much want. And I can't has. :(

Second, with all the working out, running, walking, etc lately, I'm so, so sore and my potassium is low to begin with. I crave salt so much, so I eat salty foods...but then I get super swollen and dehydrated. I couldn't sleep at all last night because my back was killing me and I had horrid heartburn. That just makes me tired, so I down caffeine. Then I get an overdose of caffeine and that gives me a headache so I down more caffeine to make it go away. Then I can't sleep. Then I exercise. Then I'm sore. And grumpy. And have heartburn from crap diet.

Sigh. Vicious circles. I really want a banana right now. Why couldn't I have just been BORN with a banana allergy? It would make this easier.

I asked Bergin University a question about something simple several months ago. I forgot I even asked it. But I got a response today. MONTHS later. Desperate for students, much? I'M NOT INTERESTED ANYMORE, LEAVE ME ALONE!

(Backstory: they gave Cesar Milan an honorary graduate degree after inviting him to be a guest speaker, and they've lost students and faculty over it. If I had been a student there, I would have left, too.)

I just discovered that being allergic to bananas when you already have a latex allergy is pretty common, because they have similar allergens. That's pretty neat, because I am allergic to latex.

On the flip side, I was also told I might want to look out for kiwi, pineapple, avocado, celery, melon, tomatoes, chestnuts and passion fruit.

.....If I become allergic to tomatoes, avocado, kiwi, or melon....I'm just going to ragequit eating.

Super super sore today. Finally around 2PM I took a fistful of drugs and went to Target, but I don't like their produce and I didn't feel up to going to the grocery store. So I have no food.

I ended up in my dad's recliner in the living room for the rest of the evening. Asked my mom what she was thinking about for dinner and she said "I made you lunch! And bought you lunch yesterday!" Oh. I see. I will remember that next time she has surgery and can't get around well... I owe her two lunches then I'm out.

On top of that, last night I went out with my agility friends (the local trial is this weekend, obviously I didn't go to the trial but I told them I wanted to go to dinner and socialize.) I told the out of towners who didn't know that I had done a half-marathon that morning and one of them said "Wow! Congratulations! We're proud of you! You should be really proud of yourself!" I almost cried because outside of a few of you here who have been awesome and a handful of people on Facebook, really nobody has said anything like that. Especially not "we're proud of you!"
I mentioned to my mom that so-and-so said this and I was really touched because nobody else had really told me that. This is clearly her cue to say SHE'S proud of me, right?
Nope. Of course not.

My aunt called to ask my dad to look at her tires tomorrow before she drives my grandma to Indianapolis to visit an eye specialist. She didn't ask to talk to me and tell me "good job" on my race even though I know she knows I ran it since I have for the last four years, and the results are printed in the newspaper.

So many times I wish I could just ragequit my family.
I'm proud of you. I'd love to run a half marathon someday & you've been an inspiration to me :)

I've been told similar things, I'm allergic to pineapple, kiwi, and papaya. I was also told to beware of strawberries in addition to what you listed, but I've had zero issues with those things (or bananas, or laytex).

I'm allergic to latex, mango, pineapple and kiwi. :[ I didn't start life with an allergy to any of the fruits, and the allergies are getting worse over time. Started with pineapple, then mango, then kiwi, and I'm told I'll just keep getting allergic to more and more things.

I got bit by something while out in the yard cleaning up, and it's swollen to the size of a marble on my neck. And it itches/hurts. Ugh.

Then I sat on the phone with tech support for my website for about 3 hours getting NOWHERE. :(

So add strawberries, papaya, and mango to the list?

You people are killing me. And I thought just bananas were bad.

Yes, but I haven't had any issues so far. I used to be able to eat all of those, then pineapple became a problem, I nearly killed myself with papaya in a smoothie, and kiwis attempted murder as well. I eat strawberries 4-5x/week, no issues there. Tomatoes and celery don't give me any problems, I don't eat any of the other foods mentioned.

I might be overthinking Snipe's spay - last night I dreamed that **I** got spayed. It was an ovary-sparing spay, but STILL! Talk about weird!

Ok family, do you really think that we're going to respond well to emotional blackmail and/or passive aggressive bullshit??

For the love of everything, do NOT tell me that my baby is not hungry and I should just walk around until she stops crying. She's my baby, I know the **** difference between crying and starvation mode crying.

Almost got into a car accident today.

It was raining and we headed out to go bowling and as I'm driving down the main road a lady decides to pull out of the side street without looking when I was only a few feet away. I slammed on my brakes and thank GOD for my brand new tires or I probably would have skidded but I was able to stop mere inches from her car... JUST in the knick of time.

I had my headlights on and everything so it's not like I wasn't visible and it wasn't raining hard at the time.. she just didn't check before pulling out.

Scared the ever loving crap out of me and I had Hannah in the backseat

WOW! Glad you and Hannah are OK. I somehow manage to get behind idiots on my way to or from work or training classes at least twice a week, and I only have an 11 mile commute (17 each way to training classes). Mostly they are people who are afraid to drive the back roads, and today was no exception. Guy was barely going 5 mph BELOW the speed limit. Bad enough, right? Oh no! At the top of the last mountain, there was a guy walking the direction we were going on the opposite shoulder of the road, and the guy infront of me practically came to a stop and then crawled by him. The road is two lanes wide there, so it's not like the guy was in our lane or anything. We did finally manage to do the speed limit, but only because we were going down hill.
